A Theory Of Everything

Have you ever thought "there must be a theory that explains or encapsulates everything!" I mean everything in the universe, no matter how big, or small; every molecule, every organism, every thought, every action, absolutely everything. I recently read Ken Wilbur's book entitled "A Theory Of Everything" and guess what he actually has created a theory that encapsulates everything in the universe. In Wilbur's theory, everything fits in and has it's place. He covers political parties and makes no party wrong. Every party is important and has it's place in this model. It covers black and white people, differing educational backgrounds, different socio economic backgrounds, psychological theories and more.
Wilbur calls it an "integral vision for business, politics, science and spirituality" and that's what it is. He also makes no claim that this is the truth, and says that this theory is more than likely, at some point going to be superseded. What I like about Wilbur's theory is that it's inclusive, and even though there will always be people who disagree with a particular theory, he even explains different groups' stances and it totally makes sense as to why we disagree.
The world is flat right? It just depends on where you're looking from and what information you're ready to hear as to whether the world really is flat for you.
Wilbur talks about the evolution of spiral dynamics and body, mind, soul and spirit. I love that these concepts are so holistic. The last chapter even provides a brief outline for a possible model to develop your own integral pracitce, as it is our integral daily practices that help to open our minds and hearts to transformation.
I love the inclusiveness of this theory. I also love Dr.David R Hawkins' Power vs Force, The Hidden Determinants of Human Behaviour and his scale of "levels of consciousness". The scale of consciousness from 0-1,000 could perhaps be misinterpreted by some as a heirarchy and that heirarchies are bad ie indicating that if you calibrate higher on the scale you are better than someone who calibrates lower on the scale. This is a classic misinterpretation of the scale and of heirarchies full stop. Interestingly Wilbur's theory is multi-level and multi-dimensional and while it still includes levels of consciousness, perhaps people who may reject the 0-1,000 scale, may be able to see and understand the logic of The Theory of Everything. And no I haven't calibrated it, just in case you're wondering.
Both are great authors and abolutely inspiring human beings to say the least in their thought processes and ability to create what they have and impact the level of consciousness of humanity. I highly recommend reading their material.
Interestingly Wilbur's theory is an "integral theory" and coincidently I created Integrity Cosmetics, long before I read his book...and yet, there's no such thing as a coincidence.
I could write about both authors and their work, for ages, and I can't wait to read more of Ken Wilbur's work and to review Power vs Force too. However I won't spoil it for you, why don't you have a read yourself.

Organic Makes Sense

Organic makes sense, or at least to me it does, and you don't have to do much research to find out why. For me, reading Dr. David R Hawkins work put another slant why organic makes sense. In his books Power vs Force, and numerous others, the concept of kinesiology is introduced which had me learn and start to gain an understanding of the flexibility and the power of kinesiology.

It had me think about the potential uses and benefits of kinesiology in buisness. After all if a piece of organic brocholi calibrates higher than a piece of non organic brocholi, and this has some level of significance and therefore benefit ie to our health for example, what other uses and measures could make a difference to our health, happiness and ultimately our lives and possibly the level at which we calibrate? Understanding the relevance of the calibration level of a piece of food can impact the choice of food we consume, so why not our choice of other goods and services?

I had this realisation around 2006 and it got my creative juices flowing and had me become more curious about the concept of calibrating and testing products, services, and even intangible things like our health.

At the time I still didn't know how the pieces of the puzzle would come together, as they now have, some 3 years later to create my next career venture, certified organic skincare and cosmetics; hence Integrity Cosmetics.

Then while I was searching for what's next for me and my career, I ended up at a party and a woman mentioned she had created a range of organic skincare. She wasn't even talking to me. I was on the other side of the room, but in that instant, it was like a light bulb went on in my head, I knew that's what I am meant to do. I had no idea what would follow.

It took months and months of research, talking in detail to people in the industry, creating the vision and working on the business plan, having my bubble burst, being challenged and then realising that I actually can do this and I don't have to have a buisness partner as I had thought about various possible businesses over the years and I didn't have to work for a cosmetics producer or retailer. I've always wanted to run my own business and I love leading people. Integrity Cosmetics presented itself as the ultimate opportunity for me to fulfil that vision and make a contributino to society and the direction the world s moving in at the same time.

In my later years philanthropy has become more and more important to me, you could say that started when I was 18, even though it wasn't a huge prioirty for my in my mid to late 20's.

I have no doubt that I have the means to earn enought money to be secure and attend to my needs of food, housing and a reasonable level of comfort in life. But what makes me truly happy is to contribute to others and make a difference on a large scale. Now that's an opportunity worth creating and a life worth living! I think Venice Bloodworth says in The Key To Yourself, something along the lines of your "life is ultimately about being of service".

Woking for the government is on the one hand appealing if you want to make a difference on a large scale, but I'm not sure it's the kind of gig for me and or that I would achieve what I wish to via that avenue. It doesn't resonate with me, at least not at the moment anyway.

Money actually makes the world go around. Like it or not, money creates flexibility and provides options and opportunities in life. Can money create peace? Who knows? Perhaps it's one piece in what is a complex puzzle. Creating my own business would allow me to contribute a percentage of the earnings to my own foundation and to use these proceeds to fund and implement projects, contributing further to the wider community; hence the concept of the Integrity Foundation has been formed.
